Dr. Yumin Ao received her PhD in Chinese language and literature from the University of Otago. She also did research at Taiwan Academia Sinica and worked as a foreign research fellow at the University of Tokyo. She has taught at Jiangxi Normal University, Shanghai International Studies University and Shanghai Donghua University, the University of Otago and George Mason University before she joined the faculty of Kennesaw State University. Her research interests include Chinese Literature, Traditional Chinese Drama and Theater, Comparative Literature, Chinese Aesthetics and Art History, Calligraphy and the history of Chinese writing, and Cross-cultural Studies. She likes mountain-hiking. A recent experience is climbing up Mt. Fuji.
