Profile

Tavishi Bhasin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political
Science and International Affairs at Kennesaw State University in Atlanta,
GA. She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Emory University in
2008. She teaches courses in Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods,
Comparative Politics, Development Policy and Practice and South Asian
Politics. She took the MSIPM cohort to Turkey for the Global Experience trip
in 2012. Her research interests include violent and nonviolent dissent,
state repression, human rights, democratic institutions and development aid
policy . She has articles published in the Journal of Conflict Resolution
and Terrorism and Political Violence. She also has two forthcoming articles,
one in the British Journal of Political Science and one in the Journal of
Electoral Studies. She is currently revising a book manuscript on political
dissent and state repression in democracies.
